Individuals can reclaim VAT for home battery
Good news ... because the VAT scheme now also applies to home batteries, you can reclaim the VAT and home batteries have become cheaper. This has further reduced the payback period and makes it even more profitable to install a home battery.
There are some rules for this, however, and this does not apply to every type of battery. Important is that the battery can trade with the energy. In that case the tax authorities can consider you as a company and you can reclaim the VAT in the year of purchase. Subsequently you can apply for the KOR scheme so that in subsequent periods / years you do not have to pay VAT.
If you have already reclaimed VAT for your solar panels then it is possible for your partner to reclaim the VAT, however, the purchase of the home battery must be in your partner's name.
Dynamic energy contract
To trade with your energy, you need a dynamic energy contract. This means a different hourly rate for the power you purchase or feed back. Thus, the battery buys energy cheaply and delivers it back when the rate is highest. The rates are announced every day around noon for the next day, so the smart control knows, based on algorithms, exactly when your battery needs to charge and discharge. That way, you're already making money even if you don't have solar panels on the roof.
